Hossam Bader El Dien Saker

Hossam’s Bio


 Hossam Bader El Dien Saker was born and raised in Cairo, Egypt. After graduating from Helwan University with Honors in Art Education in 1989, he drew illustrations and cartoons for Mother To Be and Akhbar il-Yom. He has also served, as art critic for The Middle East Times, Akhbar il-Yom and Star News. In 1996, he was awarded 2nd prize for Mixed Media in the Salon competition, sponsored by the Egyptian Ministry of culture, the following year he was awarded 1st prize for Mixed Media. From 1992-2002, he exhibited work in-group exhibitions for promising Egyptian artists under 40.

Noteworthy solo exhibitions include: Cairo Berlin Gallery, 1993; Performance Art, Embassy of Venezuela, 1995; Extra Gallery, 1999; Townhouse Gallery, 1999; and Townhouse Gallery, 2001.

He earned his Masters (1996) and Doctorate (2001) in Art Education from Helwan University. He currently teaches in the Painting Department at Helwan University in Egypt. He is also an active member of the Syndicate of Plastic Art, the National Teacher’s Syndicate, and the National Association of Fine Art.
